Painting the skin

Magic Blue basecoat on a black primer. Again, 3 coats.

Heavy Blue zenital highlight. This is a darker, desaturated blue, and doesn't leave much of an impression over Magic Blue.

But it does provide some color variation before the overall Druchii Violet wash.

Drybrush Electric Blue. As I wanted darker extremities, I limited this step to the faces and hands.

Still not enough contrast! I washed the ends of the tentacles with more Druchii Violet.

Tongues, as before.

Bone and metallics.

Flames and bases. Red crystals for this group, which are the worst of the colored resin crystals I used. Even with a coat of gloss varnish, they are kind of dull.
