Urban cobblestone base

Based on this excellent cobblestone tutorial using leftover sprues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnrFsUg2aEI

Cut up leftover sprues. First scrape the sprue unto a roughly square shape, then cut off thin pieces.

Glue the pieces on the base. Make it rough and uneven for an authentic medieval look.

Optional. Enlarge any recesses for tufts of grass.

Prime in black.

Heavy dark grey drybrush. Use hobby paint (not miniature acrylics) to create a rough texture on the surface. At the end of this step, only the darkest recesses and the middle of the squares should be pure black.

Lighter grey drybrush (both in pressure applied and color).

Even lighter grey drybrush (both in pressure applied and color). Use a smaller brush for additional texture. Brush crosswise in both directions.

Optional. Cut up tufts of grass to the correct size and glue them in the holes.

Finished! Mount the miniature on the base.
